Spiti
Colonial Shimla, the Kinnaur Valley, ancient monasteries, Chandratal lake and the road to Manali.
Overview
Spiti — 'The Middle Land' — is a cold desert mountain valley that barely sees rain. This 9-day circuit begins in colonial Shimla, winds through the dramatic Kinnaur Valley to India's last village Chitkul, crosses into Spiti's high-altitude monasteries at Tabo, Key and Kaza, reaches the crystal-blue Chandratal Lake, and finishes in Manali — one of the most spectacular road journeys in the world.
